WATCH: KT Molefe rocks bulletproof vest to court with armed guards

JOHANNESBURG - It seems people appearing in high-profile cases these days are taking protection into their own hands.

Murder-accused Katiso 'KT' Molefe went to the High Court in Johannesburg, wearing a bulletproof vest and surrounded by armed security personnel.

Molefe was seen walking into the courtyard wearing the vest, walking side-by-side with his protectors.

He then took off the jacket when he was inside the court premises.

Molefe is accused of being the mastermind behind the hits on DJ Sumbody, DJ Vintos and Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart.

In court, Molefe, who is out on bail, joined alleged hitmen Michael Tau, Musa Kekana and Floyd Mabusela in the dock.

They will be back in court on 12 March for a pre-trial sitting.
