WATCH | Mapisa Nqakula corruption trial faces more delays

PRETORIA - The corruption trial of former National Assembly speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has been hit with another delay.

The former National Assembly Speaker made a brief appearance in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

The matter was postponed to 31 August after Mapisa-Nqakula's lawyers said they have not received all the court transcripts yet.

The State told the North Gauteng High Court that it will file its heads of argument next week Wednesday.

Mapisa-Nqakula's lawyers are expected to ask the court to dismiss the charges under Section 174,
arguing there is not enough evidence against her.
