JOHANNESBURG - Independent Directorate Against Corruption (Idac) head Andrea Johnson has asked President Cyril Ramaphosa for permission to leave office, within 24 hours.
Johnson says the past five months have been challenging and the attacks on both her personal, and official capacity have been unprecedented.
She says much of the attacks against her arise out of the cases Idac has conducted against officials of Crime Intelligence. These, she says, have brought an extreme amount of negative attention to her, Idac and the NPA.

Johnson wants the President to release her immediately, as she is due to retire when she turns 56 next month.
It comes after she admitted that parts of her testimony to Parliament's ad hoc committee were incorrect.
Johnson conceded that Idac had solicited a Section 27 affidavit for suspended Crime Intelligence Chief Dumisani Khumalo, after previously denying ever receiving the document.
