City of Joburg resolves sheriff dispute, but Thuso House remains closed

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg says it has resolved the asset attachment issue with the Sheriff of the High Court.

The assets that had been attached have since been returned to the City.

The municipality’s Thuso House customer service centre was forced to close after the metro failed to settle an outstanding debt.

The Sheriff of the High Court attached the centre’s assets, disrupting municipal services for residents.

However, as of Monday, electricity had not yet been restored, meaning the customer service centre remained closed.
