4 November declared public holiday

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared 4 November as a public holiday ahead of the local government elections. 

Ramaphosa has also urged employers to make provision for employees for the day.

According to the President, on the day voters will only be able to cast their vote at the polling station in wards where they are registered. 

"In the event that voters may consider travel, they will not be able to transfer their votes to voting stations away from their designated wards," he said.
