Banyana Banyana World Cup squad to be announced

JOHANNESBURG - It is a big day for Banyana Banyana's build-up to the Fifa Women's World Cup.

Desiree Ellis' final squad of 23 will be revealed on Friday in Pretoria.

It will be trimmed down from the preliminary team of 36 some of whom have been camping with the national coaching staff.

Ellis is expected to stick with the core of the team who won the Wafcon 2022 tournament in Morocco.

However, there is always the chance of surprises in selection.

South Africa will play against Sweden, Italy, and Argentina in Group G.
