JOHANNESBURG - South Africans are waking up on Sunday morning to no rolling blackouts for the first time in a long while.

But it's a short reprieve.

Eskom is only suspending power cuts until 4pm.

It says it will give an update later on Sunday afternoon, or if and when there are significant changes.

This week saw the power utility decreasing stages of outages.

The reduction was due to a recovery in generating capacity.
