Court hears Kgaogelo had protection order against her accused-murderer

PRETORIA - The man who confessed to killing Kgaogelo Marota has abandoned his bail bid, at least for now.

The 26-year-old Lazarus Antonio now faces an additional charge, of contravening a protection order that his now-deceased ex-girlfriend, Marato, had taken out against him in February.

Antonio is accused of fatally stabbing Marato, and attacking his current girlfriend, who survived.

In the aftermath of his violent crime outside a Hammanskraal tavern, Antonio confessed on social media.

Marato’s family believes it has a watertight case against him.

Antonio returns to court on the 17th of October, after the court postponed the case.
