The brazen murder of a German tourist has highlighted safety concerns around the highly popular Kruger National Park.

A trend of similar incidents in the Numbi area leading to one of the park’s 10 gates has instilled fear in domestic and international visitors.

The acting CEO, Hapiloe Sello, is pleading with visitors not to cancel travel plans as they are completely safe within the confines of the park.

"We urge tourists with active and future bookings to use other entrance gates to the park,” Sello said.

“We fully appreciate that this incident has brought a lot of apprehension to many of our loyal local and international visitors which could result in cancellations for planned visits to the park and surrounding areas.

"It is thus important for us to remind our loyal visitors that Kruger has a total of 10 gates which tourists can safely enter from."
