DA to block budgets of graft-implicated ministers

JOHANNESBURG -  The DA has filed a criminal complaint against Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane.

The party's alleging she lied to Parliament regarding Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) board appointments.

This comes just before her budget debate in the National Council of Province (NCOP) , which the DA has vowed to block.

The party is also threatening to obstruct Human Settlements Minister Thembi Simelane's budget.

Meanwhile the ANC has slammed the move saying the DA is pushing party politics ahead of national interests.

Political analyst, Professor Susan Booysen says the current status if the GNU is goes in two ways - rough and tumble coalition relationship between parties on the other hand the is ingrained opposition. 

But even then both the ANC and the DA need each other for ensuring that things are done in Parliament.
