DA wants more information on Bester escape

JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance plans to submit official questions to Justice Minister Ronald Lamola about Thabo Bester's escape from Mangaung prison.

The Department of Correctional Services is investigating how the Facebook rapist and murderer escaped last year.

Police are now probing a murder case to try and determine whose body it is that was found burnt beyond recognition in Bester's cell.

The DA's Janho Engelbrecht says while Mangaung prison was not run by the government, someone needs to give answers.
