A Heidelberg man is trying to reclaim his identity and prove that he is not the infamous Facebook rapist. The real Thabo Bester says his life has been a living hell since his identity was stolen. JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Correctional Services says it is in talks with security company G4S to get to the bottom of what transpired on the day Thabo Bester allegedly died.
The company guards the prison where Bester was jailed.
It insists the man who died at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in May, last year, was indeed Bester.
Rapist and murderer Bester was said to have died in a fire in his cell a year ago.

But it's now been revealed that he is alive and out of jail.
His re-emergence has raised the possibility of corruption within Correctional Services departments and facilities.
