The NPA has welcomed the life sentences handed down to 16 people, convicted of a vigilante attack in Debe Nek, in the Eastern Cape.
The group has been jailed for killing 4 unarmed community members in December 2022.

The victims were dragged from their homes after being accused of cable theft.
Each of the 16 accused have been sentenced to life on four counts of murder.
They will also serve an additional 35 years for kidnapping and public violence,
which will run concurrently.
