MAKHANDA - The community of Makhanda in the Eastern Cape are fuming after a 21-year-old man who allegedly murdered 16-year-old Linomtha Skeyi was not charged for the crime.
The followed after the man appeared before the Makhanda Magistrates Court.
It was believed that the suspect had handed himself over to police.
Police say the matter was not enrolled because the prosecutor requested additional investigation.

Once completed, the case will be submitted for re-enlistment.
The community of Makhanda hopes this won't just be another cold case.
Skeyi body was found in the open field behind the Department of Social Development premises at Joza in Makhanda
She was reported missing on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2025 and during a search and rescue operation, her body was discovered on Christmas Day with multiple stab wounds.
