MBONAMBI - A wave of sadness has gripped the family of South Africa’s late Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa.
They say they’re still trying to piece together what happened after learning of his tragic passing.
Speaking to eNCA, family member Musawokuphila Mthethwa has described the shock of receiving the news.
“We only found out through his wife’s brother. By the time we gathered with the rest of the family, the news of his passing had already spread widely through the media. That shattered us the most, because we were at a loss for words on how we would break it to them,” he said.
Mthethwa plunged to his death from the 22nd floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Paris.
French authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
