JOHANNESBURG - Higher Education Minister Buti Manamela has placed three struggling Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) under administration.
Manamela cites years of corruption, mismanagement, and governance failures exposed in auditor-general reports.
The Local Government SETA, Construction SETA, and Services SETA are now under new administrators.
But the appointments have sparked controversy, with the DA calling on the Minister to reconsider them.
The DA has raised concerns about the backgrounds of the appointees, citing previous allegations of financial mismanagement, irregular expenditure, and oversight failures in past roles.
