PRETORIA - US President, Donald Trump, has reignited global debate after granting refugee status to 49 Afrikaners, following his claims of a so-called genocide against them.

The move has stirred controversy, with critics arguing it politicises the refugee system and ignores those fleeing war, famine, and persecution elsewhere.

Despite this development, most Afrikaner communities say they have no intention of leaving South Africa, insisting their future remains rooted here.

Dr Theo de Jager, Chair of the Southern African Agri Initiative and former president of the World Farmers’ Organisation discussed the issue with eNCA.
