MTHATHA - The Eastern Cape observed a provincial day of mourning for all those killed in the recent floods.
The province also held a memorial service for the 92 people who died in Mthatha.
Search teams from the SANDF and the SAPS continue to trawl the Mthatha River as more bodies are still being recovered, while more people are still missing.
Those missing include pupils that were swept away when their scholar transport was pulled by raging floodwaters.

As the water subsides, residents are picking up the pieces and slowly rebuilding their lives.
At the same time, displaced residents are accusing authorities of ordering them to return to collapsing houses.
Human Settlements Minister Thembi Simelane has rejected this claim.
