EKURHULENI - The City of Ekurhuleni Mayor, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, says the eviction of residents in Pharopark low-cost housing is part of the city’s plans to reclaim the CBD.
Metro police, SAPS and the eviction security police, the ‘Red Ants, started enforcing an eviction order on Tuesday.

Protesting residents then allegedly set the Department of Home Affairs building alight in Germiston.
Home Affairs will have to move its Germiston operation to neighbouring offices.
