VANDERBIJLPARK - The Emfuleni Municipality denies it's facing a billing crisis.
Angry residents took their grievances straight to its doorstep after dozens were slapped with exorbitant water and electricity bills.
Some charges ran into hundreds of thousands, while others exceeded a million rand despite some residents having non-functional meters.
The municipality has been battling to deliver services for years now, with raw sewage, water problems and power outages plaguing residents.
