EKHURULENI - The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department has suspended its deputy chief, Julius Mkhwanazi.
This following the recommendations of an internal audit investigation into allegations of misconduct.

Mkhwanazi has been implicated in theft after CCTV footage captured him and EMPD officers at a workshop in Meyerton.
They allegedly robbed copper cables, and an informant who exposed them was murdered.
The footage has come before the Madlanga Commission.
Formal disciplinary proceedings against Mkhwanazi will now follow.
