Eskom should recruit former employees, says board chair

The Eskom board chair says while the utility needs all the financial support it can get, one of its key priorities is to recruit highly skilled, previous talent.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH - Embattled Eskom should ask for help.

Its board chairperson Mpho Makwana says the power utility needs to recruit the best minds familiar with how it operates.

Makwana has told eNCA that human resources is the major area of focus in a bid to turn around Eskom.

He's part of the South African delegation attending the global climate talks in Egypt.

Makwana says the immediate task is to stabilise the under-strain national electricity grid and save the economy from taking a huge knock due to ongoing blackouts.
