CAPE TOWN - Two people are expected to appear at the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a five-year-old girl in the Western Cape.
The suspects, a man and a woman, are aged 35 and 40.
According to police spokesperson Wesley Twigg, the body of the young child was found with a stab wound to her neck in a dustbin in Duinefontein Road.

He said the incident happened on Sunday, 16 August 2026, in Sweet Home, Samora Machel.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown, with investigations underway.
