Free State Dam | DA: get help from the Western Cape
JAGERSFONTEIN - The DA in the Free State says the province does not have a disaster management centre, and is urging authorities to seek help from the Western Cape government.
This comes after a mine dam wall collapsed in Jagersfontein, killing three people.

The party's Karabo Khakhau explained the concerns of the community when the dam was built.
She said, "the dam was built in 2012... even upon the building of this dam. Members of the community raised concerns... what happens if the dams collapses?"
"The concerns were raised with no answer from the municipality. She gives the death toll... speaks of four people missing. This is a situation as the DA we refuse to accept as a mere disaster/hazard."
"The municipality was supposed to have taken measures to ensure that there's a plan of action."
"There's no disaster management centre to begin with so there's no potential risk."
"The concerns we have lie with the mining authorities and the National Department of Mineral Resources...and it would be interesting to know when last they visited this dam to ensure that the lives of people wouldn't be at risk as they are right now."
