JOHANNESBURG - The cross-examination of the lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial continues.
Advocate Charles Mnisi is questioning Brigadier Bongani Gininda, on the circumstances around the 2020 confession of accused number 1, Muzi Sibiya.
Sibiya alleges he was assaulted by police and claims Gininda was present during the alleged torture.
Although he confessed to involvement in Meyiwa’s death in 2014, he now argues that statement was coerced.
Sibiya and four co-accused are on trial for the killing of the Bafana Bafana captain.
