Illegal mining | Cele to visit North West following arrests

JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Bheki Cele will visit Stilfontein after the arrest of 20 suspected illegal miners.

He will be accompanied by the police's top brass.

The arrests were part of a joint operation by police and the Hawks in the North West.

They seized over a dozen firearms, boxes of ammunition and explosives.

The Hawks say the suspects have been under surveillance for some time.

The raid forms part of operations targeted at illegal mining.
