JOHANNESBURG - Pain, anger and fear continue to grip the family of a 10-year-old Akeem Williams, who was shot and killed over the weekend in Klipspruit West near Eldorado Park.
He was the one playing in the street when the gunfire erupted, leaving another person dead and three others wounded.
Residents say deadly shootings and gang violence continue to plague the area despite the deployment of the army.
The young boy's aunt, Fadeela Williams said, "We're very angry as well because it happened literally on our doorstep, a few houses away from where we stay. We are angry that nothing is being done about the gang violence, the gun violence in our communities and it's upsetting to say the least."
She said this death has left a scar in the family as they now battle to tell the younger siblings and cousins about his passing.

"We don't know how to console them as children. How do we explain this to his siblings, to his cousins that he's no longer here?"
In the same shooting involving the young boy, an adult male was also shot and killed.
As investigations continue, police vowed to capture the suspects who are believed to have fled the scene.
