Itireleng shack fire| Community wants harshest sentence for two mothers

PRETORIA - The Laudium CPF says they will be laying culpable homicide charges against the two mothers who left five of their children unattended in a shack to visit a nearby tavern.

Three boys aged between two and six and two girls aged 17 months and seven, died in the fire.

Both mothers have been taken in for questioning.

"This incident should not have happened," said Shaheen Wahab, Laudium CPF chairperson.

"The community is outraged, they want answers.

"We will do everything in our capacity and capabilities to push law enforcement to give the harshest of sentences," he said.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze continues.
