DA Gauteng spokesperson for Infrastructure Development, Nico De Jager, says the immediate problem is the high water usage.

De Jager said, "This is a good project in the long because it is a concern for the immediate future."

"What we need to understand is, what will happen is that the system will run dry eventually, and it will take time to recover."

"It will take a couple of days for the reserves to recover. The more people use especially in the low laying areas, it will take longer for the high laying areas to recover."

"The immediate problem that we have is high usage of water."
