JOHANESBURG - KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Human Settlements is intensifying its fight against corruption.
This comes after a suspected kingpin appeared in court for stealing money from flood victims.
He's accused of tapping into the Emergency Housing Response Fund.

KZN Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma says such corruption continues to deprive vulnerable residents of housing opportunities.
"In a lot of areas in the province there are people who are benefiting illegally in human settlements, in terms of housing benefit It is costing the state billions of money. We are still living with people who are vulnerable who are supposed to be in those houses. Unfortunately, they are not benefiting," he said.
The Department is also dealing with illegal migrants involved in the sale of government houses.
"We must boldly ensure that there is no stone left unturned so that our people, those who must benefit, must benefit. Those who must not benefit, must not benefit in the process,"
