JOHANNESBURG - Former National Director of Public Prosecutions Vusi Pikoli is appearing at the TRC cases inquiry.
The inquiry is looking into possible political interference to halt prosecutions of apartheid-era murders, torture and disappearances
Pikoli was head of the NPA between 2005 and 2008.

President Thabo Mbeki suspended him, and he later got the axe from Kgalema Motlanthe.
Pikoli has previously detailed claims of political interference in an affidavit.
Judge Sisi Khampepe is still heading the inquiry, despite court challenges by former Presidents Mbeki and Zuma.
