JOHANNESBURG - Trade, Industry and Competition Minister, Parks Tau, has to go back to the starting blocks regarding the National Lottery licence.
The licence to run the Lotto was awarded to Sizekhaya Holdings in May last year.
But the High Court in Pretoria has set aside that decision.
The ruling reopens the battle for one of South Africa's most lucrative licences.

The challenge was brought by two unsuccessful bidders, Ithuba Lottery and the Ringeta Consortium.
In his ruling, Judge Norman Davis, found several flaws in the awarding process, including that Tau had taken advice from a new committee which had run a parallel process to that of the evaluation committee.
The judge suspended the declaration of invalidity for 12 months to not disruption lotto operations which are run by Sizekhaya for now.
