BRAKPAN, Gauteng - The Brakpan community held a memorial drive for former police reservist Wiandre Pretorius.
The service took place on Friday afternoon at a petrol station in Brakpan, where he shot himself.
Friends and family came carrying flowers to remember Pretorius.

The incident happened days after he survived an alleged hit in Boksburg.
National police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, had confirmed that Pretorius was a person of interest in the murder of Marius van der Merwe, otherwise known as Witness D.
Van der Merwe had implicated Pretorius at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Pretorius was also a suspect in the murder of Emmanuel Mbense in 2022.
