Meyiwa murder trial to resume in October

PRETORIA - The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial will resume next month.

The defence says it needs time to consult their clients and experts on 700 photographs that were downloaded from accused number three Mthobisi Mncube's phone.

However, there are still six more phones to comb through.

Constable Sizwe Zungu has testified that he was with the five men in the dock at a hostel on the night Meyiwa was shot and killed.  

He's identified the accused from photographs that were downloaded from Mncube's cellphone.

The defense has since requested to have access to the all the photographs that were downloaded and not just those selected by the state prosecutor.

The trial will resume on 2 October with cross-examination of Zungu expected to continue.
