CAPE TOWN - uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) has come out strongly against the start of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The party labelled it unlawful, premature, and politically motivated.
The commission, beginning hearings tomorrow, goes ahead, just a day before the court challenge in the North Gauteng High Court.
MK Party accuses President Cyril Ramaphosa of trying to pre-empt, and undermine the judiciary.
It has also questioned the legitimacy of Judge Madlanga to lead the probe, arguing it’s irrational for a sitting judge to investigate allegations involving members of the judiciary.
The MK Party has called for the commission to be suspended immediately until the court has ruled on its legality.
