Mkhwanazi said the claims were personal attacks, labelling him a criminal and questioning his integrity.
It's accusations he strongly denied.
In a post on Facebook that has been widely shared, Mathibeli, the owner of Calvin and Family Security Services, launched an attack on Mkhwanazi and the KZN police, claiming they were captured by his competitors.
He further alluded that Mkhwanazi had issued an instruction that he should be shot and killed.

In the post, Mathibeli said he was aware of plans being orchestrated by police to have him killed.
This comes after police recently conducted an operation at his business premises in Durban.
He claimed Mkhwanazi was an “ice boy” to taxi and security company owners.
Judgment on the broader damages case has been reserved.
