National Assembly to vote on Mkhwebane’s removal from office
CAPE TOWN - The National Assembly will vote on whether to impeach Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
It follows the completion of the work by the inquiry into her fitness to hold office.
Next Thursday, the House will vote to decide on her replacement.
Leadership expert Mazwe Majola says the new Public Protector will have to build the nation's confidence.
"The appointment of the new Public Protector is very unfortunate because it is noble office. It is very important office and we need someone who will be very respected there," he said.
"Well-supported and accepted, very respected by the majority of political parties in Parliament but also by the South African general."
