JOHANNESBURG - Those in the industry are demanding safety and protection.

They say government isn't interested in dealing with the problem despite drivers suffering severe injuries, trauma and in some cases death.
The Private Public Transport Association says promises made in 2014 to deal with this have not been put in action.
