NPA welcomes latest Task Team arrests

JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has welcomed the arrests by the Commission Recommended Task Team.

The suspended Ekurhuleni Metro's legal head, Kemi Behari and EMPD deputy chief, Julius Mkhwanazi, appeared at the Germiston Magistrate's Court.

They were granted bail of R50,000 each.

Former City Manager Imogen Mashazi and embattled Human Resources head Linda Gxasheka joined them in the dock, but their bail decision has been postponed to Friday.

Charges against them stem from testimony at the Madlanga Commission.

Meanwhile, police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said more arrests are imminent.
