Officials warn of dangerous 'chuffing' trend among pupils

JOHANNESBURG - City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) is warning parents about a dangerous trend among school pupils.

A video circulating on social media shows a group of pupils inhaling powder from a fire extinguisher.

The trend is known as chuffing.

Officials warn the practice can cause serious health problems, including pneumonia, seizures and even death.

Emergency services are urging parents to speak to their children about the dangers.
