Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee on SAPS set to finalise report by 5 June

CAPE TOWN - Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee probing claims of corruption in law enforcement is expected to finalise its report by the first week of next month.

The Committee has concluded its work of hearing in-person testimony, with the evidence leaders now compiling testimony into a draft report.

MPs convened an online meeting to set timelines and to get an update from evidence leaders on the finalisation of the Committee’s work.

The overview of the evidence leaders will be finalised by next Friday.

Committee members will then have one week to peruse the document.

National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza granted another extension, with the Committee's mandate now set to terminate on 12 June 2026.

The Committee’s findings and recommendations will be tabled in Parliament, which will outline suggestions on how the limping criminal justice system can be fixed.
