Parly’s Ad Hoc Committee guns for O’Sullivan to appear in person

CAPE TOWN - Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee investigating police corruption is moving to subpoena forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan to appear in person.

O’Sullivan, who is in London wants to testify online, citing security concerns.

He is expected back in the country in March.

O’Sullivan is one of the witnesses set to appear before the Committee's work wraps up on the 20th of February.

But MPs say virtual testimony would diminish their work.

KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has called for O'Sullivan to be investigated over alleged IPID interference.

Former IPID Head, Robert McBride, is set to appear on Tuesday.

The committee was established last year to probe alleged political meddling and corruption in the criminal justice system.
