PRETORIA – The Presidency has dismissed claims that President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the home of corruption-accused businessman Hangwani Maumela.
A video circulating on social media shows the President outside Maumela’s Sandton residence.
Maumela is a central figure in the Tembisa Hospital corruption scandal. More than R2-billion was allegedly looted through irregular contracts.

The video surfaced shortly after the Asset Forfeiture Unit raided Maumela’s home, seizing Lamborghinis, artworks and other expensive items.
However, Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya clarified that the president had merely been out on his routine walk, not visiting Maumela.
