GARANKUWA - The Gauteng education department is concerned with what’s happening in and around schools after 22 pupils at a Ga-Rankuwa school fell ill after eating snacks allegedly bought from a street vendor.
In another incident, 40 pupils fell ill after eating snacks at Reimolotswe Primary School in Winterveldt.
And 22 pupils at a Ga-Rankuwa school fell ill after eating snacks allegedly bought from a street vendor.
The food poisoning incidents are concerning.
Today, three accused are appearing at Soshanguve Magistrate's Court after they sold muffins allegedly laced with dagga to pupils.
Mabona said, "We are aware that the police have started their investigation. We are aware as well that the snacks have been confiscated… For us we are saying SGBs and parents, we need to work together because all these things are happening outside our school premises, unfortunately.”
