Ramaphosa extends Madlanga Commission deadline

 JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deadline of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. 

The new amended date for the Commission to submit a second interim report is 29 May. 

The final report on the completion of the inquiry is due on 31 August.

This was confirmed by the Presidency's office on Monday afternoon. 

According to the Presidency, the extension of the deadline was granted at the request of the Commission due to the number of persons who must still appear.

To date Ramphosa has been issued with the Commissions first interim report on 17 December 2025.

In its interim report, the Commission referred a number of matters for immediate criminal investigation and urgent decisions on prosecution.
