JOHANNESBURG - Residents have been warned not to go near the disused mine shaft in Rooderpoort.
Two illegal miners remain trapped underground in a disused mine in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg.

Rescue operations were halted after efforts to get down the mine shaft and save them became too dangerous.
Meanwhile, the Department of Mineral Resources is expected to survey the disused Roodeport mine to try and locate the trapped illegal miners.
