Restore the power grid | City Power to fix outage schedule glitches

JOHANNESBURG - Joburgers are still in the dark about power cuts since City Power took over the job from Eskom.

But the utility says it's resolving glitches in its blackout schedules.

Some customers have been left without power for most of the day.

Certain blocks are experiencing four hours of outages squeezed into a six to eight hour time frame.

This means some areas only get a two-hour break between blackouts.

City Power says work to resolve this will involve realigning of blocks and spreading out the outages.

It does however say the new schedule has enabled lights to be kept on much longer for some customers.
