SA’s health emergency | SAMA says shortage of doctors at critical stage

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Medical Association is blaming the shortage of doctors on poor planning.

SAMA and the Democratic Nursing  Organisation of South Africa are calling for urgent action to address the scarcity of healthcare workers for public hospitals.

SAMA says there is currently less than one doctor (0.8 doctors) per a thousand patients.
