Scramble to fix road infrustructure ahead of G20 summit

JOHANNESBURG - Malfunctioning traffic lights and potholes in Gauteng remain a significant concern.

The provincial government and the City of Johannesburg have been under pressure, to sort out this mess, before the G20 summit in November.

However, officials say there is no money to carry out repairs to road infrastructure.

Joburg Roads Agency is accused of prioritising upgrades and maintenance, on G20 summit routes. But the agency denies this.
