KEMPTON PARK - A suspect in the murder of Ekurhuleni audit chief Mpho Mafole is expected to appear in the Kempton Park magistrate’s court.
Mafole was ambushed and shot dead last month on the R23 near Kempton Park.
At the time of his death, he was probing a revenue shortfall of nearly R2-billion.
While the exact motive remains unclear, investigators believe the killing may be connected to his audit work.
Mafole had been in the role for just three months.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for a second suspect who remains at large.
